THESE HIGH-RISE JEANS HAVE ALYSSA'S NAME WRITTEN ALL OVER THEM

One of the most frustrating things about being a fashion editor (and basically the entire argument behind the "see now, buy now" philosophy) is that we see super-cute pieces six months before they hit stores and wish we could scoop up them immediately. This exact scenario went down at the Madewell spring 2016 preview a while back, when new Creative Director Joyce Lee debuted her first collection for the brand. It was was filled with lots of personal touches, including custom embroidery, and I fell in love with the denim stiched with a variety of messages sewn in red — as seen in the Instagram pics below. And now, finally, I can snag myself a pair.
I'm particularly fond of this high-waisted silhouette in a vintage-y wash. They're cropped right above the ankle — ideal for the upcoming warm weather — and I plan on getting my name embroidered right on the waistband. I'll be sure to style them with bodysuits or tucked-in linen tees to show off the message, since I always feel extra special when wear a piece that's personalized like this. You can get in on the fun, too! All you need to do is give Madewell a call after placing the order, and they'll embroider up to nine letters for a flat fee of $10. A small price to pay for an adorable customization, if you ask me.
