I'm not trying to brag, but I consider myself pretty well-versed when it comes to snowstorm protocol. When you grow up in Chiberia — better known as "Chicago" to some — you learn fairly early on what it takes to successfully weather a blizzard. When I was a kid, that meant throwing on some long underwear and camping out in front of a "Magic School Bus" marathon. Ample snacks ranging from Annie's Cheddar Bunnies to Fruit Gushers were provided. Storms in adulthood aren't all that different, thankfully, but the beverages notably have been updated to include wine.
With Winter Storm Jonas* set to hit the Tri-State Area on Saturday, I've been giving a lot of thought to my own blizzard regimen and whether it needs updating. It's not like I need to add another chunky, oversized sweater to my closet, but alas, this J.Crew bad-boy has stolen my heart. In a merino wool, alpaca and silk blend, it's guaranteed to be as cozy as it is durable. It's extra-long, too, meaning you can get away with pairing it with — shudder — leggings without your butt being on full display. It's the perfect storm of sweaters. Get it?
