Spring Preview Shoe

Blog-Featured-SpringPreview-0307-V1
Spring is right around the corner, which means it’s almost time to trade in those snow boots for something airier. Whether your style is laid-back or glitzy, we’ve got everything to make those cold, dark winter days seem long gone. We’ve already shared our favorite shoe trends for 2016, many of which you can get a head start wearing as the days start to get warmer, but now we want to share some of our buyers’ favorites for the season.
Love your flat espadrilles and wish you could wear them with more than jeans and a t-shirt? Well you’re in luck. This casual silhouette has increased not only in popularity over the past few seasons, but also in height and style, becoming this spring’s obvious choice whether you’re meeting girlfriends for brunch or going on a date.
Add a little sass to your springtime wardrobe with a pair of cage or lace-up sandals that are sure to stand out. Go full out with a laced-up look that goes to mid-calf or subtly embrace the trend with a pair that ends at the ankle; either way, there are lots of fun options to try this season.
It’s true: we adore slides. They’re fashionably practical and transition from day to night faster than post-work cocktails. What’s not to love? Plus, this season’s favorites play with texture and color, so you may find yourself grabbing a few pairs.
The Switzerland of booties, these neutral numbers are exactly what our closets have been missing all this time. The range of warm suedes will keep you right on trend, and be sure to look for cutouts and open toes for styles so you’ll be able to transition right through the milder weather.
City sandals are perfect for the girl on the go. Featuring a lower, block heel, you’ll have support and style no matter where you’re headed. With suede, metallic, and lace-up options to choose from, you can even play with a few of this season’s trends at once.

“P” is the letter of the season, and by that we mean printed pumps. So pick your poison: stripes and floral and snakeskin are all hot for spring and will really up your style game.
Clogs, platforms, flatforms… the 70s are back, baby. Can you dig it? This time, these styles feature rich leathers and lots of great details – not to mention, more comfortable soles!

How to: Make Comfort Cute

teenvogueheaderv3
Here at ShoeBuy, we are firm believers that comfort and style can exist in the same shoe. Our friends at Teen Vogue seem to agree. In the March 2016 issue, the story “The New Normal” explores the endless styling possibilities with normcore pieces (specifically shoes) or as they call them, “Refined versions of the everyday staples.” Read on to view the shoot, and click the images to shop your favorites at ShoeBuy!

As we all know, Birkenstocks are no longer just hippie shoes – with celebrities and fashionistas rocking the look, every shoe wardrobe needs a pair. The comfortable footbed is perfect for any activity, even if it’s just meeting up with some friends for the afternoon or for walking around town. The Boston (left) is a great transitional clog that will be perfect for spring. The Arizona (right center) is the classic sandal to replace your old flip-flops. Upgrade! They look great with everything from distressed jeans to an airy maxi dress.

Clarks is known for their craftsmanship and their comfortable shoes, but this season, their trendy options are really catching our eye. The Wallabee (left) originated as a men’s shoe, but is now also made for women and kids. Menswear-inspired shoes are huge this spring, so why not buy some that you can actually wear all day? Rock them with long funky socks if you’re daring!

15 Best Shoes to Wear to a Music Festival

crowd1 header
Headed to a music festival this spring or summer? Whether you’ll be chilling at Coachella in April, bopping at Bonnaroo in June, or Lollapalooza-ing in August, the music is just part of the festival experience. As any girl who has attended one in the past can tell you, music festivals are also a fun opportunity to show off your fashion prowess and personality. Who cares if you don’t know all the words to the song as long as your outfit lineup is in tune? From headdresses to feathers, flowers to fringe, anything goes. When it comes to what you’ll put on your feet, however, think fashion AND comfort. You want something that will bring your whole outfit together but you’ll also feel good wearing all day, because nothing says “party’s over” like a killer blister. What’s more, these styles will be hot all summer long, so even if you’re not off to a show, there’s a look for everyone!
Sandals are the go-to footwear at music festivals for good reason: they’ll keep you cool and comfortable even when things heat up, and with such a range of styles available, you can find the perfect pair to complete any look. Embrace the gladiator sandal trend with a lace-up duo to add some interest to a classic cutoff jeans getup, or bring a little height with a low block heel that’s still easy to trek around in all day. It’s not a bad idea to plan on changing your shoes at some point over the course of the day or weekend either – a pair of metallic Birkenstocks will feel like heaven after an afternoon of dancing and are a much safer alternative to bare feet.
Booties aren’t just for country music concertgoers; though if one is on your festival docket, look no further! Also a great choice for potentially inclement weather or dusty mosh pits, these tried-and-trues will keep your toes protected without sacrificing style. Look for a pair with fringe, perforation, or buckles to really stand out.
Though our fingers are crossed for sunshine, prepare for a washout of a weekend with an amazing pair of rain boots you’d be excited to wear – you may just find yourself doing the rain dance and jumping in puddles with 100,000 new friends!

From Gold to Silver, Flat to High, White to Black & More: Prom Shoes for Every Style

promlettersheader
These days, proms have morphed into milestone events – the Oscars, if you will, of high school. Fashion risks are taken and memories are made. And while every prom and every girl are different, for many, getting ready for the big night is half of the fun.
Here we’ve rounded up some of our favorite prom-stopping styles, with picks that range from classically pretty to the fantastically edgy. After all, the dress is really part of the look!
For a sleek silhouette, choose a pair of shoes that will up the ante without becoming distracting. Timeless doesn’t have to mean boring, so embrace a hot trend like lace-up or get glitzy without fear of risking future style regret. Plus, these styles so chic, they’re sure to be worn again!
If prom is your night to shine, burn baby, burn! Make a fashion statement with your shoes with bold colors, textures, and interesting designs that complement your outfit.
For a subtler look, a small heel or flats can add just as much pizzazz as their stiletto counterparts, and are particularly pretty when paired with an airy, Grecian inspired dress – not to mention, likely more comfortable.
Heels not your thing? We feel you. Kick it all night in a pair of high tops or sparkle in glitter sneakers that show you’re fashionable and fun. Did someone say after party?

Ladies, frost yourselves. A great clutch will hold your ticket, lip balm, and cell phone while you’re tearing up the dance floor, and the right jewelry can take a look from basic to prom queen without blowing your budget.

10 Gifts for Mom

Blog-Featured-MothersDay-0419-V1
Here at ShoeBuy, we love moms. We love the moms that shop with us everyday, we love the moms we work alongside and of course, we love OUR own moms!
As close as you may be with your mom (or grandma, sister, aunt, or another exceptional lady in your life), it can be tricky to find a Mother’s Day gift that shows you care and that she’ll actually like and use. Whether she’s the active type, fashion-forward, or maybe a new mommy, somehow that person who we think we know so well suddenly becomes puzzling when it comes to gift buying.
Never fear! We asked several ShoeMoms what’s on their Mother’s Day wish list and put together the ultimate Mother’s Day gift guide to take the guessing out of shopping.

For the Mom with a Little Prep in Her Step…

Go for a classic look with a bit of a modern flair. These slip-ons from Clarks are the perfect transition shoe for the warmer months and would look chic paired with an easy-to-wear skirt like this seersucker number from Toad&Co. Plus, we know mom will appreciate it’s made from 100% organic cotton!

For the New Mama, a Little Stylish Comfort!

If she’s celebrating her first Mother’s Day this year, nothing beats a gift that makes her day a little easier – and more comfortable! The ultimate in organization, this Ju-Ju-Be diaper bag holds everything for both mom and baby in a backpack design that’s practical without sacrificing style. And for her feet? These Birkenstocks offer serious support for every stride, and the studded detailing shows mama’s still “got it.”

For the Easy Breezy Mom Who Goes with the Flow

Help her relax with laid-back pieces that are bound to become her weekend go-to’s this summer. A casual top made with breathable materials like this Prana shirt with flutter sleeves is the perfect alternative to a basic tee for running errands around town. And instead of just throwing on shabby sneakers, she’ll actually be excited to wear these fun leather sandals from Vionic, scientifically proven to alleviate heel pain.

For the On-the-Move Mama

Whether headed to the market or grabbing a coffee with some friends after yoga class, every woman needs a lightweight jacket that’s easy to wear and looks great on the fly. The “Do Everything” woven jacket from lucy lives up to its name, and works as a stand-alone coat or as part of a layered look. And for those days when it seems like she can’t find a minute to sit down, she’ll be singing your praises for adding these Dansko dreams to her closet.

For the Always-in-Style Mom

Feed her fashion addiction with leather lovelies that she’ll rock both for work and play. A hobo bag like this relaxed yet structured silhouette from Lodis stays on-trend and offers ample room for all the necessities without becoming bulky. And when paired with an equally luxurious pair of strappy sandals like these Cole Haan beauties, this duo goes from boardroom to PTA meeting to date night without missing a step.
Public Service Announcement: Mother’s Day is right around the corner! Moms deserve a day of pampering, so save yourself the stress of running around the night before – or forking over a TON of cash for an overpriced bouquet of flowers the day-of – by putting a little thought into what yourmom would really appreciate.

Get the Look for Less

look for less header

Drooling over designer shoes but can’t drop your whole paycheck (or more) on a pair for the season? We’ve got you covered. We’ve scoured the web for some of this season’s trendiest high-end styles and found some awesome pairs on our site that will help you get the looks for less.

Steve Madden Sassey Lace Up Sandal
Fun Fringe The Aquazzura Wild Thing Sandals have been worn by street style stars and bloggersalike. They may have a massive cult following, but $785 is hard to swallow. This Steve Madden pair has the suede, the color, the tassels, and is less than 1/4th of the cost at $129.95.
White Hot
With the athleisure trend as popular as ever – and spring finally here – minimalism reigns supreme. Many designers this year have created their own version of the white slip-on sneaker. Junya Watanabe’s take on the closet staple is crocodile-embossed and clocks in at almost $300.The Keds Champion Slip On in leather conveys elevated style without breaking the bank at $49.95.
Naturalizer Praline
Flat Footed
Flatforms are major this season. They give you a little height without teetering on skinny heels. The Givenchy Rachel Slingback combines this trend with a classic spring favorite: the espadrille. While this spring sandal will cost you $850, the Naturalizer Praline is $59.99 and has rave reviews about comfort and fit.
Slip on Style
Flatform + espadrille + slip-on = the perfect everyday spring shoe. If you like the slip-on sneaker look but don’t want to commit to something quite so athletic, this is the shoe for you. The Jimmy Choo Dawn Espadrille comes to $450. This Steve Madden style is $78.95, and will take you all the way through summer.
Circus by Sam Edelman Gibson Gladiator Sandal
Gladiators
A pair of great gladiator sandals will take you from music festival to dinner downtown. They bring a fun, laid-back vibe to any outfit. The Stuart Weitzman Romanflat Ghillie Sandal is fantastic, but comes in with a price tag of $445. The Gibson Gladiator Sandal from Circus by Sam Edelman is only $89.95, and has a zipper closure at the heel — easy to throw on and go!
Dolce Vita Lyndon Cage Sandal
City Sandals
An elevated version of the gladiator with a block heel and lace-up detailing, the Loeffler Randall Luz Lace-up Sandal is almost $400. The Dolce Vita Lyndon Cage Sandal is less than half the price, and just as chic.
Steve Madden Carrson Ankle Strap Sandal
Sweet Suede
This classic ankle strap sandal gets an update for 2016 with a suede finish and a block heel. A nude color is chic and versatile. The NearlyNude Ankle Strap Sandal from Stuart Weitzman is $398. The Steve Madden Carrson Ankle Strap Sandal is only $89.95, and is equally elegant.
Bella Vita Savona Peep Toe Shootie
Modern Mules
Mules are one of the biggest shoe trends this spring with both flat and heeled varieties seen all over the SS16 shows. From Gucci to Balenciaga, these are the “it” shoes and a black leather pair will keep your outfit grounded and sleek. The Givenchy Edgy Line Low Leather Cylinder-Heel Booties hit the trend perfectly, but it will cost you. $895 is the runway price. The Bella Vita Savona Peep Toe Shootie provides the luxe leather look and comfort. At $99.95, you may want to snag more than one color.
Franco Sarto Quentin Sandal
Sleek Slides
Slide sandals are the new flip flops. A minimal pair will add polish and streamline your look. This striped pair from Ancient Greek Sandals comes to $280. The Franco Sarto Quentin Sandal, where it lacks in stripes, makes up in discount. At $58.95, you can afford to take the risk with clean white sandals.
adidas Adilette Supercloud Plus Graphic Sandal
Groundbreaking Florals
These athletic-inspired sandals are more than just your average shower shoes. As a result of the ever-popular normcore trend, rubber slides are popping up everywhere. This Gucci pair is $280. If you’re looking for a pair to lounge in, take to the beach, or walk around in all day, expect a lot of wear and tear. This pair from Adidas is $34.95, so you could even buy a backup!
